Clifford: Help put Creggan hijackers away

SDLP Derry Councillor Jim Clifford has strongly condemned the attempted hijacking of a bus in the Creggan area of the city on Saturday and has urged anyone with information to help capture those responsible

He said:

“An attack of this nature must have been extremely traumatic for the driver and passengers involved.

“I would urge any witnesses who seen this attempted hijacking or anything relating to this incident to contact the police without delay, so those responsible can be tracked down and apprehended.

“The people of Creggan need this bus service – particularly older residents with bus passes – and it is a disgrace that the futile actions of these hijackers led to the service being suspended.”
