Mr Dallat, who received a letter from the NIO Minister Hugo Swire saying that the NIO is not obliged to notify interested parties about the release of prisoners, said: “This response from the NIO Minister is astonishing and is a slap in the face to Knight’s victims who have already endured enough turmoil. “When Knight was rearrested following his conviction, I was told by both the NIO and the PSNI that he was back in custody, yet when he was released it seems that it wasn’t important that his victims were informed that he was back on our streets and was living within a mile of one of his victims. “I had to find out from the media and break the news to his victims, who were absolutely shattered. Just imagine the shock this would have been had either of the girls met Knight in Coleraine. “The Sentence Review Commission has a lot of questions to answer on this case.”Filed Under:
