He said: “While Lisnaskea is a priority for the Western Trust the funding for the project remains in the balance.
“The Health centres in Irvinestown and Belleek seem to be very much on the back burner.
“This is disappointing news for the people in these areas and especially for those who work in primary care throughout Fermanagh.
“Lisnaskea has a very busy centre with many patients and modern facilities are long overdue.
“I will continue to push the Department of Health to come up with the funding for these centres.
“I will also put pressure on the Finance Minister, who controls the purse strings and is already issuing warnings to everybody about cutbacks.
“Everywhere these days the emphasis is on the development of primary care, but unless this funding comes through Fermanagh is in danger of becoming the poor relation in the development of basic health facilities.”
