Kelly: At least some ‘justice’ for Carroll family

SDLP Upper Bann MLA Dolores Kelly has said she hopes the guilty verdict handed down to two men today for the murder of PSNI Constable Stephen Carroll will bring comfort to his family.

Mrs Kelly said: “I hope that today’s verdict will bring some sense of comfort to Constable Carroll’s wife Kate, his family and friends.

“This was a shocking and cowardly crime that sent reverberations throughout Lurgan and across our island.

“It is particularly disturbing that one of those convicted was so young.

“Although this verdict indicates that justice has been done, the sad fact is that it is not going to bring an innocent man back to his family.”
