McGreevy: Community welcomes replaced ATM

SDLP Newry and Mourne Council candidate Connaire McGreevy has said the replacement of the ATM at Murdock’s Vivo Shop in Warrenpoint is greatly welcomed by people in the area.

The filling station was just one of several shops targeted during the spate of cash machine robberies in the local area in October 2009.

He said: “Murdock’s Shop provides an essential service, not only to domestic customers but also to businesses based in the nearby Milltown Industrial Estate and the surrounding Warrenpoint and Burren area.

“The SDLP is delighted to see that such an efficient effort was made to restore the ATM machine as there are a large number of customers, including myself who rely on this service on a regular basis.

“The damage caused to the premises in October 2009 by the group of thieves was substantial. I would like to congratulate Murdock’s on the successful reinstatement of the ATM service and I believe that this achievement is testament to the extremely high standard of service which the shop has always delivered to the local community.”
