Mallon reiterates call for standalone Anti-Poverty Strategy

SDLP Social Justice Spokesperson Nichola Mallon MLA has said that the figures published today which show that deprived areas in Belfast and Derry City and Strabane have the highest premature death rates across these islands are a stark reminder that some of the most vulnerable people in our society are being failed. Reiterating the SDLP’s call for a standalone Anti-Poverty Strategy, she said that it is a disgrace that we do not have a functioning Executive committed to tackling poverty as a key priority.
