Hanna: We need aim higher than the Backstop on Brexit

SDLP Brexit Spokesperson Claire Hanna has welcomed the united front from the Dublin Government and the European Union to continue to work to stop any border in Ireland. Ms Hanna however said that we needed to aim higher than the backstop and that means ensuring no economic borders on these islands.

Durkan Calls for More Ambitious Future Planning for Health Service Staff

SDLP Health Spokesperson Mark H Durkan MLA has welcomed the investment of £15million that will go towards workforce planning in the health service, including the recruitment of almost 100 extra nurses and midwives. The Foyle MLA however said that the announced plans would not be sufficient to deal with pressures and called for a more ambitious plan.
