Mullan selected to contest Assembly Election

SDLP members have endorsed Councillor Gerry Mullan to contest the Assembly Elections in East Antrim for the SDLP. If elected he will take the place of John Dallat who has represented the constituency for 18 years. Mullan was first elected to Limavady Borough Council in 2001 and won a seat on the new Causeway Coast and Glens Council in 2014. He was Mayor of Limavady in 2014 and currently serves as a director of Limavady Community Development Initiative (LCDI) as well as the Roe Valley Enterprise Company. He also represented the SDLP in last year’s Westminster Election.

SDLP Leader Colum Eastwood MLA has expressed his gratitude after being shortlisted for a GALA LGBT Award. He was nominated for his support for the LGBT+ community in Ireland and for proposing the first motion for Equal Marriage to achieve a majority in the NI Assembly in October last year.
