Attwood: Shootings must stop before death occurs

SDLP West Belfast Councillor Tim Attwood has said shootings in West Belfast have to stop before someone is killed.

Mr Attwood was speaking following the shooting of a man in the leg at Gibson Street last night.

He said: “This simply has to stop before there is a death. We cannot allow ourselves to become desensitised to these sorts of incidents as if they are something that just happen. They should never happen and, sadly, it could take a death before that message is truly brought home.

“I urge anybody with information to urgently pass it to the police.”
