Clifford condemns creggan pipebomb

SDLP Derry City Councillor Jim Clifford has condemned those responsible for leaving what has been described by police as a “crude but viable pipe bomb-type device” in the Cromore Gardens area of Creggan on Sunday night.

Mon 22nd November

He said:

“All of these attacks have to be totally and absolutely condemned.

“Thankfully, in this attack nobody was seriously injured but it is no thanks to those who carried it out that we are not dealing with a serious injury or worse.

"We in the SDLP have spoken out against violence for many, many years.

"We don’t need this and we don’t want this. The people of Creggan certainly don’t want this.

"If anybody knows anything about this attack they should contact the police immediately.”
