Speaking after attending last "I have written to both Ilex and Invest NI about the need to have a productive marketing plan for Derry on the back of Project Kelvin. "I have also discussed this with the Chief Executive of Invest NI and have highlighted it at meetings of our local Strategy Board. "This successful event – and hopefully further information sessions – come at an important time for local businesses as they work their way through this downturn and make plans to capitalise on the economic recovery when it comes."
"This well-attended event discussed what more could be done to
"Clearly it underlined the opportunity that Kelvin is for the city and region for businesses that are here and could be here in the future.
"The people in attendance were pleased that it gave them a better handle on how the Kelvin link could be used for greater future business creation and performance.
"People were also saying that there needs to be more information sessions like this for local business interests.
"However, there is still a basic question of how Derry can maximise its opportunity from Kelvin. That means building a marketing platform around it and trying to secure a data centre near the telehouse.
