Heading presses Roads Service to tackle Colin Town project hold-up

SDLP Deputy Mayor of Lisburn Cllr Brian Heading has pushed Roads Service to make the Colin Town Centre Project on the Stewartstown Road a priority so that work can begin on the site.

Thu 30th September

The Dunmurry Cllr said: “There has been a serious hold-up by Roads Service in completing work around the Colin Town Centre project which has led to it getting stuck in the planning system. As a result, Council has been unable to give the green light for work to begin on the site.

“I have made several representations to Roads Service on this issue and have instructed them to make this project a priority so that construction work can begin and this wonderful project, which has been funded by Minister Attwood’s department, can come to fruition as quickly as possible.

“Once completed, Colin Town will massively improve the image of the Colin area. It will be a vibrant centre which will attract businesses and create much needed jobs for local people.

“I will continue to push the relevant government departments so that the red tape can be cut down and this project can come to life.”
