Heading welcomes progress on Colin Gateway project

SDLP Deputy Mayor of Lisburn Cllr Brian Heading has welcomed planning approval by Lisburn City Council for the Colin Gateway project on the Stewartstown Road.

Tue 12th October

Cllr Heading has been pressing both Roads Service and the Planning Service for a number of months to make the Colin Town Centre Project a priority so that work can begin on the site.

The Dunmurry Cllr said: “I am delighted that the block within Roads Service and the Planning Service has been lifted and the green light has been given for work to actually begin on the site.

“I have made several representations to Roads Service and the Planning Service on this issue urging them to make this project a priority so that construction work can start, and I am now delighted to see some movement on its development.

“Colin Gateway is a fantastic project, which has been funded by Social Development Minister Attwood department to massively improve the image of the Colin area.

“Once completed, it will be a vibrant centre which will attract businesses and create much-needed jobs for local people.

“I will continue to push the relevant government departments and the Ministers in charge so that the red tape can be cut down and this project can come to life.”
