Keenan: Community horror at rape in West Belfast

SDLP Lower Falls Cllr Colin Keenan has said the community are in shock after a woman was sexually assaulted in the grounds of the disused Beechmount Leisure Centre site

Tue 31st January

Cllr Keenan said: "This was a horrific attack on a woman in our local area which has shocked and disgusted local people.

“This must have been such a traumatic experience for the female victim and our thoughts are very much with her at what must be a terrible time.

"I urge people, particularly women, to be cautious and to avoid walking alone where possible and I strongly appeal to anyone with information about this incident to contact the police immediately".
