Mallon condemns Oldpark attack

SDLP North Belfast Councillor Nichola Mallon has condemned those responsible for throwing flammable liquid at a house in the Oldpark Road area of the city.

Ms Mallon said: “This is an appalling act which could easily have caused serious injury or death.

 

“People living on the Oldpark Road are being persecuted on an almost nightly basis and are eager for CCTV cameras to be installed in their neighbourhood so to act as a deterrent to the criminals responsible for these types of activities.

 

“Although this will not solve all the problems in this area, it will provide residents with peace of mind.

 

“I would urge those responsible for putting in place this scheme to proceed with the installation of the cameras as a matter of urgency.”
