Ritchie concerned by health switchboard move

SDLP South Down MLA Margaret Ritchie said she is very concerned by reports that the southern health area night telephone switchboard is to be moved from Daisy Hill Hospital in Newry to Craigavon.

She said: "The whole of the South Down constituency is focused in health terms on Newry as its main A+E centre. Craigavon is very far off indeed for South Down people, so the idea of moving the night switchboard would not go down well at all. I intend to take this up with Health Minister Michael McGimpsey."
