Wednesday 10th March 2010 SDLP Finance Spokesperson Declan O’Loan has called on the Finance Minister not to introduce a credit card option for people paying rates due to the excessive costs and risk of debt that this creates for consumers.

Wednesday 12th January 2011 The Department of Finance and Personnel should pull in their horns when dictating cuts which they think the Northern Ireland Audit Office should make. The call comes from SDLP member of the Public Accounts Committee John Dallat after it was revealed that the independent financial watch dog has been told to make savings of twenty per cent.

Monday 20th February 2012 SDLP Foyle MP Mark Durkan is to join a committee at Westminster tomorrow which scrutinises the major reforms proposed in the Financial Services Bill – including credit union reform in Northern Ireland, consumer protection and regulation of the banks.
