Dallat: THIS MUST NOT BE A PHONEY WAR

Responding to an interview by Assistant Chief Constable Stephen Martin East Derry SDLP Assembly Member John Dallat has backed the ACC in his determination to crack down on the UDA in North Antrim and East Derry after as many as 14 incidents involving the illegal organisation. Mr Dallat has warned against a phoney war on crime as organised criminal gangs remain totally out of control and are determined to act as judge, jury and literal executioner in their determination to win a turf war that started shortly after the former so-called brigadier Billy McFarlane alias ‘The Mexican’ was deposed from leadership in 2013.

Dobbins: Concern over Saturday night disturbances

SDLP councillor Angela Dobbins has expressed her concern over an incident in which the PSNI were called to the Culmore area on Saturday night after a crowd of 30-40 youths had gathered at Magnet Bar/Centra Stores to engage in fighting amongst each other. The youths, after being confronted by customers, staff and door staff, vacated the shop but remained outside being abusive and antagonising each other.
