Tuesday 15th December 2009 SDLP Mid-Ulster MLA Patsy McGlone said he hopes to promote service to voters, reconciliation and unity of the people of Ireland in the post of party deputy leader. Following the close of nominations Mr McGlone is the sole candidate for the post, to be appointed at the party conference in February.
Friday 16th April 2010 SDLP East Derry candidate Cllr Thomas Conway said the numbers are stacking up well for a nationalist to take the seat from Gregory Campbell of the DUP.
