North South Makes Sense

The SDLP's "North South Makes Sense" campaign highlights the importance of the North South agenda and the potential of all Ireland development to improve the lives of people across the island.

North South Makes Sense

The SDLP believes that by working together we can help break down barriers that have hindered development, and co-operate on issues of mutual benefit, such as cross border health, transport and energy, to ensure that we exploit the potential of working together on an all-island bases. For example, the SDLP are presently campaigning for the retention of specialist paediatric cardio services in the Clarke Clinic in Belfast, which we believe could continue to operate through the development of all-island clinical networks, harnessing specialist skills in a sustainable way, North and South of the border, to ensure that this critical service is retained on the island of Ireland.
