Kelly urges vigilance following Portadown device

SDLP Deputy Leader Dolores Kelly has branded those responsible for leaving a suspected bomb under a car in Portadown as “evil” and urged the community to be vigilant against attack, particularly in the run-in to Christmas.

The Upper Bann MLA said: “My thoughts are immediately with the person targeted in this attack and their family. The Corbracky Road is a populated area and not only do we have Drumcree College in the vicinity but also two primary schools and it is used as a main thoroughfare.

“This was an evil act against an individual and those who carried it out have no regard for the safety of the wider public through their wanton recklessness for the lives of many.

“This acts as a timely reminder for people to be vigilant in light of potential attacks and review personal security and make sure that, as neighbors, they look out for one another.

“Anybody with information needs to pass it to the PSNI without delay.”
