McCrossan nominated for West Tyrone
Daniel McCrossan MLA said:
“I am delighted to have been selected to fight the upcoming by-election in my home Constituency of West Tyrone. The people of West Tyrone deserve to be represented at every level and the by-election is an opportunity for a fresh start.
“At this critical time, I want to give voice to all people of this area and represent their needs which for years have been sorely neglected by abstentionist representatives, more interested in dividing the community than uniting it.
“With the onset of Brexit, the threat of a hard border and impending Direct Rule it is crucial that West Tyrone is represented by an MP who will take their seat and fight to defend the Good Friday Agreement and for the best deal possible for the people of the North.
“The people of West Tyrone need job opportunities, investment in infrastructure, delivery of the long awaited A5 upgrade and increased health provision. With no functioning Executive in Northern Ireland, it is time that my constituents had a voice in Westminster, someone who will enter the Chamber and fight for them and I am up for the job.”
SDLP Leader Colum Eastwood MLA said:
“Daniel is a first class public representative. Since becoming an MLA for West Tyrone in 2016 he has worked tirelessly for his constituents, right across the constituency. His commitment and dedication to the people in West Tyrone are next to none.
“As we head into a time of increased political uncertainty the people of West Tyrone, and the whole of the North, deserve an MP who will take their seat and defend them against a hard Tory Brexit and Direct Rule. I believe that Daniel McCrossan can be that voice for the people of West Tyrone."
