SDLP backs ‘Keep me posted’ campaign

The SDLP has voiced its support for the ‘Keep Me Posted’ campaign alongside Advice NI, for claimants to have the choice to receive postal notifications of Universal Credit payment, the new combined benefit being rolled out across Northern Ireland. This new benefit, which is all online, requires claimants to have the digital skills to apply for and navigate the new system.

Hanna: Refers British Border Force Posts to Equality Commission

Following the advertisement for 21 Border Force posts based in Belfast, SDLP Brexit Spokesperson Claire Hanna MLA said the British Government should spell out clearly what form of border they anticipate these employees to be guarding. The South Belfast MLA said the apparent bar on Irish passport holders is both "exclusionary and chilling” and has asked the Equality Commission to investigate.
