Time to stop black market trading of counterfeit drugs

SDLP Policing and Justice Spokesperson Dolores Kelly MLA has called for an increased effort to close down the illegal sales of counterfeit Xanax on the black market, a drug not available on the NHS, yet according to the Chief Coroner is the cause of at least one death per week in Northern Ireland. Mrs Kelly has said she will be meeting the Assistant Chief Constables in March to highlight this very worrying development.

After meeting a Labour Delegation in Belfast, including Shadow Brexit Minister Keir Starmer MP, Mr Eastwood added that he impressed upon the delegation the importance of the Backstop in protecting the interests of people here. McNulty: Decision on troops at the border will be made by Westminster

SDLP MLA Justin McNulty has given a cautious welcome to confirmation from the Head of the Civil Service that there are no plans locally to send troops to the border in the aftermath of Brexit. However, he has expressed concern that the final decision on whether or not to deploy the military to the border areas rests with Westminster.
