McDonnell: Visteon workers victory comes after long battle
Dr McDonnell was speaking after Prime Minister David Cameron confirmed that a deal had been reached by trade union Unite and Ford, the operator of the former Visteon site.
“This great news is a testament to the dogged determination of the workers who were made redundant back in 2009. Their relentless campaign for compensation following a devaluation of up to 40% of some worker pensions has now ended in success and I want to congratulate them on that.
“The only disappointment from this deal is that it took Ford so long to realise these people deserved and were entitled to compensation in the wake of the redundancies”
