SDLP Delegation meets with Arts Council
Mr McGlone commented:
“We addressed the severe cuts made to the Arts partners of Mid Ulster Council that amounted to a loss in £20,000 of funding per year.
Cllr Quinn said:
“It is extremely worrying that groups such as Craic threatre in Coalisland and Bardic Threatre in Donaghmore will be disproportionately affected by this loss of funding. Both groups offer a range of unique activities for the local community which will now be in jeopardy.
“The Arts are extremely important and have a role to play in developing life skills, language and communication. These cuts are shortsighted and those implementing them should reconsider the long-term impacts they will have on our communities.”
