Council to host cross border Brexit Conference

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council will host a Cross Border Conference on Wednesday 7th February at the Carrickdale Hotel which will be attended by Tánaiste Simon Coveney. Chairperson of the Enterprise, Regeneration and Tourism Committee Pete Byrne has said that the conference will be aimed at preparing businesses for the impact of Brexit focusing on the A1-M1 corridor.

Tierney calls for action on Bradley Pass traffic lights

SDLP Councillor Brian Tierney has called on DFI Roads to act to fix traffic lights at Bradley Pass which are still out over 24 hours after the fault was reported. Cllr Tierney said that after fighting hard to secure the lights, that they’re useless if they aren’t operational at all times.

Tierney: Calls for action over bin collection delays

Due to icy conditions the bin collection in the Derry area was disrupted and as a result residents across the city are facing significant delays. SDLP Councillor Brian Tierney has written to the Chief Executive of the Derry and Strabane District Council to ask him to explore "all possible options" to alleviate the delays facing residents.
