Newry

Gary Stokes was first returned by the people of Newry to serve on the old Newry and Mourne Council in 2005. He was elected to the new Newry, Mourne and Down Council in 2014. 

In his early years in council Stokes campaigned for the normalising of policing.  More recently he has been a champion for a new city centre park in Newry. 

Stokes holds a degree in accounting and works in the area of all-island trade. 

Gary is married with one son.
