Derg

Steven was co-opted onto Derry & Strabane District Council in 2020 where he represents the Derg DEA.

Steven attended secondary school in Strabane and then graduated in law in Liverpool and at Queen's University Belfast.

Steven has been an SDLP member in Tyrone for over a decade where he played an active role in growing the party locally.

A native of Tyrone, Steven has a passion for rural issues and has used his position on Derry City & Strabane District Council to raise issues such as rural investment, green infrastructure and climate change.

Steven is currently a member of the Health & Communities committee and the Environment & Regeneration committee.

His particular interests include rural rights, agriculture, health care provision and local infrastructure. Steven works closely with a number of community associations across the Derg DEA and actively lobbies Council and Stormont on their behalf.

Outside of politics, Steven enjoys spending time with his family, supporting his local GAA club and walking his French bulldog.
