SDLP Candidate Conference
21st November | 10am to 3pm | The MAC Theatre, Belfast
A day of practical training for SDLP Assembly and Council candidates, to help you get campaign-ready for May 2027.
You'll hear from the people who run our campaigns, our press office and our digital team, along with a candidate who has been through it. You'll leave knowing what's expected of you, where to go for help, and how to make every conversation on the doors and online count.
What we'll cover
- Social Media: using social media to reach voters where they are
- Media: working with the press team and handling journalists with confidence
- What you need to know: ratification, support, the Code of Conduct and staying safe
- Running your campaign: election roles, literature and fundraising, from someone who's done it
- Casework: handling enquiries well and turning them into votes
- Canvassing: confidence on the doorstep, with hands-on practice
Who it's for
All ratified and prospective SDLP candidates for the 2027 Assembly election and future Council elections. The candidate conference is part of the training set out in the Candidate Code of Conduct, so please make every effort to attend.
