Castlereagh South

John Gallen was elected to Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council in 2014.

Originally from Derry, John has lived in Africa, London, Australia and has been living in the Newtownbreda area for a number of years.

The area he covers is Castlereagh South which is from Forestside Shopping Centre to Carryduff including the Four Winds and Beechill. 

An engineer by trade, John started his work career as a plant mechanic, then statutory engineering inspections for the insurance industry and is now an Engineering Adjuster for an Insurance Loss Adjusting Company.

Working as part of the South Belfast SDLP team John's political interests include the environment, sustainability and building a society built on prosperity, fairness and equality for all.
