The Mournes

Laura has been a Councillor since 2013 with two successful elections under her belt. She has been a member of the SDLP since 1999 and has worked for the party on a full-time basis for over 17 years. 

Laura works for Colin McGrath MLA in South Down.

Laura has a keen interest in Tourism, hospitality and outdoor recreation. She lives on the outskirts of Castlewellan with husband Seán and two children Tom and Polly,  representing the Mournes District Electoral Area.  

Laura is the current Chairperson of Newry, Mourne and Down Council and the party’s Spokesperson on Tourism.
