Waterside

Sean Mooney represents the Waterside DEA in Derry. He currently resides in the area with his wife and three children.

He became an SDLP Councillor for Derry and Strabane District Council in February 2020, replacing Sinead Mc Laughlin when she took her seat in the Northern Ireland Assembly and was subsequently re-elected in 2023.

Sean said it was a great honour to become an elected representative for the people of Derry. He has always been a proud advocate for the people of the city, whether in his current role as a councillor or in his previous profession as a solicitor.

In his private time he enjoys all outdoor pursuits, particularly triathalons, open water swimming, cycling etc.
