SDLP Foyle MLA Mark H Durkan has expressed his shock and deep sadness following the death of a young woman in the Summer Meadows Mews area of Derry.
Mark H Durkan MLA said:
"This is heartbreaking and deeply distressing news for our city. The death of a young woman in such circumstances has left people right across Derry shocked and saddened.
"My thoughts are first and foremost with her family and friends, who are now facing this unimaginable loss. No words can ease that grief, but they should know they are in the thoughts and prayers of the entire community.
"There will be understandable concern within the local area following this incident. I would urge anyone who has any information to bring it forward to the PSNI to assist their investigation."
