We, the undersigned, call on the Health Minister to work with the Southern Trust, to create a plan to ensure equal access to ambulance provision and equity of access in rural communities such as South Down.
Demand Equal Access to Ambulances!
If you live in the South Down area, you will have to wait up to three times as long for an ambulance compared to Belfast. This is not fair and risks putting at risk the health of all those in our community who will rely on these critical services.
Our heroic paramedics and ambulance staff are doing everything they can to respond to our emergency call outs, but all too often they are held up waiting for patients to be admitted to our emergency departments. We are seeing ever increasing numbers of our ambulance staff attacked as they go about their jobs.
There needs to be a plan to address this now.
We believe it is wrong to pit rural communities against urban ones and are calling on the Department of Health to address this.
Join us in demanding equal access to ambulance provision.
