Integrated education petition

The removal of funding for new buildings at ten integrated schools across Northern Ireland has rightly angered parents, teachers and the entire school community.

Funding has been removed as part of the deal between Executive parties and the British government to restore Stormont.

The Executive parties should have sought clarity during their negotiations around the impact the redistribution this money would have, before they signed up to their financial deal with the Tories.

Now our integrated schools, teachers, parents and pupils are paying the price for their decision not to pin down the details of the financial settlement.

The schools impacted are:

  • Millennium Integrated Primary School, near Saintfield, County Down
  • Forge Integrated Primary School, Belfast
  • Bangor Central Integrated Primary School
  • Priory Integrated College, Holywood, County Down
  • Fort Hill Integrated College and Primary School, Lisburn
  • Slemish Integrated College, Ballymena, County Antrim
  • Hazelwood Integrated College, Newtownabbey
  • Integrated College Dungannon, County Tyrone
  • Drumragh Integrated College, Omagh, County Tyrone
  • Brookeborough Shared Education Campus, County Fermanagh
We, the undersigned urge the Executive to reverse the funding cut so that these long-awaited new school builds can go ahead so that these schools receive the modern facilities that they deserve to help every pupil reach their full potential.
