Justin McNulty is the SDLP MLA for Newry and Armagh.
Justin McNulty entered the political arena in 2015 when he received more than 12,000 votes in the Westminster election. He was first elected to the Assembly in May 2016 and served on the Committee for Infrastructure and Education Committee where he was a strong advocate for children with special and complex needs and for children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Justin McNulty is the SDLP Spokesperson for Young People and Sport. He firmly believes that all children should enjoy and benefit from regular participation in physical activity and team sports.
Justin has campaigned on and has been vocal in the Assembly Chamber on such issues as Brexit, North South institutions and collaboration, Casement Park, Daisy Hill Hospital, the A1, rural broadband, Armagh Link Roads and the Southern Relief Road in Newry.
Growing up in a family of six children Justin was made to appreciate the value of fighting his corner and the importance of living up to the challenge of achieving goals both on a personal and community level. He brings to politics that same drive and determination, which brought him the highest honours in sport, and he is determined to deliver for all the people living in his constituency of Newry and Armagh.
Allied to that, through his career in engineering and project management, in high performance and in finance, Justin has a broad portfolio of experience and he endeavours to bring that to bear in his efforts to scrutinize legislation and to fight for the families and communities he represents.
Justin feels the passion of communities and the spirit of volunteerism is at the heart of so much which is good in his area. He knows what it means to work hard day after day, night after night, weekend after weekend, to achieve a goal which benefits everyone in the community. Justin seeks to harness that same passion, endeavour and determination in working for everyone.
