SDLP Ballyarnett Councillor Catherine McDaid has called for urgent action to address the deteriorating condition of the road at Oakbridge Park in Derry.

The surface has been badly damaged in several places, with a number of significant potholes developing.

Councillor McDaid has contacted the Department for Infrastructure to raise the issue and request that repair work is carried out as soon as possible.

Councillor McDaid said:

“The road at the entrance to Oakbridge Park is in a terrible state, with a large section badly damaged and multiple potholes. This is causing real concern for residents who should not have to navigate these hazards when leaving or returning to their homes.

“This is just one of many roads across our city and district that are in a poor condition. There is growing frustration at the repeated failure to carry out repairs in a timely manner. People are regularly seeing damage to their cars, and poor road surfaces also pose clear safety risks for both drivers and pedestrians.

“I have contacted the department and raised the situation at Oakbridge. There is a clear need for greater investment in our roads network, and given the current condition, Oakbridge would be a good place to start.”
