SDLP MLA Patsy McGlone has said that there are still serious questions for the civil service to answer following further developments in the case of the whistle-blower Dr Tamara Bronckaers.

The Mid Ulster MLA said:

“Following the reports this morning of further developments in the case of Dr Tamara Bronckaers, it is clear that there are very serious questions for the civil service to answer. I have tabled a Priority Witten Question to the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs, asking when all photographic and video evidence relating to the Industrial Tribunal between his Department and Dr Bronckaers will be published. There are also significant questions for the civil service to answer regarding the adequacy and comprehensive nature of the Terms of Reference for the upcoming inquiry. I have also tabled written questions to the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs as well as the Minister of Finance to ask whether their Departments have been consulted on those Terms of Reference.

“If Stormont was up and running, I am certain that this would be a matter for a Committee-led inquiry that could question all relevant officials and it should be in the Department’s interest to disclose everything possible in this case.”
