SDLP Dungannon councillor Karol McQuade has said there is concern in the local area following an incident which left a number of people injured.

Police have arrested five people following the incident in the Oaks Avenue area which resulted in four people being taken to hospital.

Councillor McQuade said:

“Understandably there is significant concern in the local area following this violent incident. It has had a serious impact, not only on the people left injured, but on those who witnessed what took place.

“There is no place for violence like this on our streets and reports of weapons being involved are deeply troubling. Police have already made a number of arrests and I welcome their attempts to reassure people in the local area after this disturbance.

“Nobody expects to see something like this happening on their doorstep, particularly in broad daylight on a Sunday afternoon. I’d ask anyone with any information to come forward to police.”
