Sunnyside Street is extremely busy with road traffic, but despite the fact that a significant number of children and members of the wider community have to cross it on a daily basis, there is no safe crossing point anywhere along its nearly half-mile length.
SDLP Councillor Gary McKeown is campaigning for a pedestrian and cycle crossing on Sunnyside Street to make it safer for everyone.
We are calling on the Department for Infrastructure to install a signalised crossing on Sunnyside Street, taking into account the particular characteristics of this location, especially the number of kids crossing by foot, bike and scooter.
