Sinéad McLaughlin is an SDLP MLA for Foyle, having served from 2020. She has also previously served as a councillor representing the Waterside DEA.
Sinéad is the SDLP Opposition Spokesperson on the Economy and has previously served as Chair of the Executive Office Committee, providing an essential and vocal scrutiny of the Executive Office and the work of the First, Deputy First and Junior Ministers. She currently serves on the Assembly's Economy and Executive Office committees.
She is a former Chief Executive of the Chamber of Commerce in Derry and was a leader of the campaign in Northern Ireland against Brexit.
Sinéad is a strong advocate for women's healthcare, violence against women and girls and university expansion in Derry, building on the legacy of the late John Hume.
