The town centre is the heart of our community, providing employment and opportunities to live, work and socialise. We all want these areas to be vibrant, successful and accessible for everyone in our towns and villages to enjoy. However, in recent years they have increasingly faced huge challenges. COVID-19 has posed significant problems for the local economic life of our town and village centres, particularly for independent retailers who have struggled to survive. While some of our town centres have began to recover and flourish, there are others that are in desparate need of support and assistance to reverse their decline.
